OUR PROUD HISTORY

The fruition of Lethbridge Pride came in 2007, when a small group of people from our community hosted a BBQ on the outskirts of Lethbridge and a dance roughly twenty-minutes outside of Lethbridge city limits. The first Lethbridge Pride was organized by a handful of community members who had a dream that Lethbridge Pride Fest would grow and rival major cities like Edmonton and Calgary!

One of Lethbridge Pride’s goals is to create and continue to create events, spaces, and community for each member of our beautiful and diverse community with as few barriers as possible. While we just celebrated our 15th Year in 2023, we are so excited to continue our work and connect with our community.

Lethbridge Pride Fest Society became an incorporated society in Alberta in 2011. Taking over the work of GALA/LA (the Gay and Lesbian Alliance of Lethbridge and Area) Lethbridge Pride Fest Society has a proud history of celebrating and to promoting equality for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Two-Spirit, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual community

  • Meetings of the Lethbridge Pride Fest Society are open to the public. Non-members are welcome to attend the first thirty-minutes of each board meeting, then all non-members will be asked to leave for the Board to conduct the rest of its business.

Note, majority of Board of Directors may ask any persons who are non-members to leave at anytime.

During meetings, Lethbridge Pride Fest Society asks that non-members are quiet and respectful throughout — if there is specific business a non-member would like to discuss at the meeting, you must put forward this business/ topic at the beginning of the meeting.

If you’d like to sit in on a Board Meeting, please reach out through our contact form for more information.
